- This week, we took the Unit 7 test, the Amath screener and the final Bridges Interim Assessment. Whew :)
- We will finish off the year by revisiting some of our earlier work in the year and do the math volume zoo project.
Literacy this week
- Ask your 5th grader which book they chose to read first for literacy!!
- We will be doing a combination of various literacy activities. Each classroom may be a bit different, but in general we plan to do parts of EL Module 4-Natural Disasters, chapter book reading/responses/activities, some additional read alouds, daily oral language and cursive.
Science
- We are now in our 4th science unit of the year: Earth Systems
- The question we will be investigating and answering is:
What can determine how much water is available for human use?
- Our first chapter's guiding question is: Why is East Ferris running out of water while West Ferris is not?
- Our second chapter's guiding question is: Why does more rain form over West Ferris than East Ferris?
- Our third chapter's guiding question is: Why is more water vapor getting cold over West Ferris than East Ferris?
- Our fourth chapter's guiding question is: Why is more water vapor high up over West Ferris than East Ferris?
- Our fifth chapter's guiding question is: How can East Ferris turn wastewater into clean freshwater?
SELS/Health lessons

- Human Growth and Development will be starting soon! (Different dates for each class.)

- Our focus this month will be on Practicing the "Randall Way" and our goal is 1,250 paws to earn a Popsicle Day in June!
