  • This is our weekly blog where we will update what we did that week, post information for families, update calendar events and other important information.  An updated blog will be posted every Friday.
  • If you are ever looking for past information, you will have access to all of our posts throughout the year. 

Oldie, but Goodies
  • This is a spot for information that families may still need.
Math
  • This week the 5th grade math class was introduced to our first unit on Expressions, Equations and Volume.  
  • Our Number Corner this month will focus on making connections between numbers written as fractions and decimals and start our work with volume in tangible and strategic ways. 
Literacy this week
  • We will be doing a short book study that will compliment our first EL module that will begin in two weeks.
  • The book is called Boys Without Names by Kashmira Sheth (a Madison author) where we will begin the important discussion around human rights.
  • We also did a variety of "Get to Know Me" activities
Science 
  • Our first unit will be on Patterns of Earth and Sky as we answer the question:
Why do we see stars at different times?
  • Our first chapter will focus on :  Why don't we see a lot of stars in daytime?
SELS/Health lessons
  • Community building
  • Universal practices
  • Healthy habits
